John Wootton (Jack)
Passed away peacefully at home on Friday 30th May at 3:40am surrounded by family. Aged 80, Jack had battled cancer for 3 years and stayed positive throughout. Jack was an ex miner at Silverwood colliery. He lived in Sunnyside and leave his wife Dot, sons John, Kev & Paul. Daughters Wendy, Yvonne & Teresa. Numerous Grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is reunited with son Barry.

Died of bowel cancer, with liver secondary.

What can I say about my dad?
He was everything. His humour and courage knew no bounds. He was dedicated to his family, especially Dot. He was known as "silly Grandad" and the green chair in the corner is lonely without him

IF I DON'T SEE YOU THROUGH THE WEEK I'LL SEE YOU THROUGH THE WINDOW

RIP Dad.....I love you!

Mum followed dad on 2nd July 2008 RIP mum and dad xxxx

He is Gone
You can shed tears that he is gone,
Or you can smile because he lived,
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him
Or you can be full of the love that you shared,
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on,
You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your
back,
Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes,
love and go on.

Buddhism has become a very important part of my life. Key to it is how we view death and how we 'live' with it. There is a Buddhist saying....

'Everything that has a beginning has an ending. Make your peace with that and all will be well'

I hope that over the coming months and years that can bring you some comfort.
